Pakistan and Belarus have expressed their resolve to strengthen their relations in multiple sectors, which emerged after a high-level meeting today between Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar and Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Rezenkov. This discussion took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic.
The two leaders conducted a comprehensive review of the existing bilateral relations and expressed their commitment to enhancing cooperation in key sectors. They placed special emphasis on the ninth meeting of the Pakistan-Belarus Joint Ministerial Commission, which is scheduled to be held in Pakistan next month, and highlighted the need to maintain regular high-level interactions.
Economic and trade relations, defense cooperation, and agricultural partnerships were among the central points of discussion. Additionally, both countries reviewed opportunities in technology and workforce exchanges and expressed their commitment to implementing a detailed cooperation roadmap for the period 2025 to 2027.
Foreign Minister Rezenkov praised Pakistan’s active role in facilitating dialogue amid the US-Iran tensions and commended its continuous efforts to promote peace and security in the region. This appreciation underscores the importance of Pakistan’s diplomatic engagements globally, further establishing it as a key player in regional stability.
As both countries prepare for the upcoming Ministerial Commission, the renewed resolve to strengthen relations is expected to bring positive developments in areas of mutual interest and promises a robust partnership in the coming years.
