Protest in Badin on the second day against police brutality and arrests of Baberlo sit-in participants

Activists of Jeay Sindh Awami Front and Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz gathered in front of Badin Press Club for the second consecutive day, condemning the arrests of leaders and activists associated with the Priya Kumari Action Committee at Baberlo Bypass and alleged police aggression.

At the appeal of Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz (JSQM) Shaheed Bashir Khan Group and Jeay Sindh Awami Front (JSAF), protesters gathered to express dissatisfaction over the reported treatment of peaceful demonstrators.

JSQM’s Central Joint Secretary, Tanveer Katiyar, along with Javed Chang, Sattar Magri, Akhtar Soomro, Sabir Rehman, and Irshad Nehrio, led the protest, highlighting the community’s grievances.

Protesters chanted slogans, expressing dissatisfaction over alleged police actions. The leaders emphasized that the alleged use of force against non-violent protesters at Baberlo Bypass cannot be accepted.

A request was made to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Khairpur for adherence to the law, protection of citizens’ fundamental rights, and prevention of further violations.

Protest leaders demanded a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident, accountability for those responsible, and the removal of obstacles to democratic and political activities.

They stressed the need to protect citizens’ constitutional rights and stated that there should be no hindrance to peaceful protests.
