Sindh’s Provincial Minister for Construction and Services and Prisons, Haji Ali Hassan Zardari, today visited a village near Thatta, Arab, and promised its reconstruction and legal action after its demolition by police forces.
In Arab Solangi village, allegedly due to disputed land claims, the police acted on a court order, resulting in the destruction of 17 houses built under the People’s Housing Scheme. The minister, along with other notable Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) figures, met with the affected residents to assure them of government support and announced plans to transform the village into a model settlement.
Minister Zardari committed to providing essential services and rations to the displaced until their homes are rebuilt, including their transfer from the district, and announced the establishment of a legal team to defend the villagers’ rights.
The historical significance of the village was highlighted by the residents, who termed the operation as unjust. The PPP delegation included District President Sadiq Ali Memon, party leader Ashiq Zardari, and District Chairman Abdul Hameed Panhwar, who expressed solidarity with the victims.
