KARACHI: Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Monday assured to take action against illegal parking on the road from Peoples Square to II Chundrigar Road, and said that the illegal parking would not be tolerated in any area of the city.
He gave this assurance in a telephonic conversation with senior leaders of Pakistan Peoples Party Najmi Alam, Munir Gadi and Izhar. Earlier, PPP leaders Najmi Alam, Munir Gadi and Izhar visited the area on the invitation of Mohalla Committee, Burns Garden, Mohammad Bin Qasim Road.
Residents of the area told the PPP leaders that charged parking had been started on the road leading to II Chundrigar Road. There are residential buildings, and business offices on one side of the highway and government residence on the other side. The charged parking management have also started collecting car parking from the residents. The citizens living in the area have also protested against the charged parking in the residential area, but the problem had not been resolved yet.
The leaders of the PPP while talking to the people of the neighborhood said that service to the people is their slogan. “The PPP believes in giving relief to the people,” he added. The PPP leaders said that they were well aware of the problems caused by illegal parking to the residents.
They immediately contacted the Administrator Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab and informed him of the entire situation. Mr Wahab assured to take action against illegal parking on the road from People’s Square to II Chundrigar Road and said that illegal parking would not be tolerated in any area of the city. He said that instructions were being issued to the relevant authorities in this regard.
