Robber killed in Karachi Malir, passerby killed in Sachal Goth, 5 injured in other incidents

A fatal shooting in District East claimed one life on Thursday, while law enforcement agencies were simultaneously engaged in multiple exchanges of fire with suspected robbers across the metropolis, resulting in three arrests and two individuals sustaining gunshot wounds during robbery attempts.

Wahendo s/o Mondo, aged between 50 and 55, was reportedly shot dead due to a personal vendetta at Kaneez Fatima society, near Khatm-e-Nabuwat Chowk, within the jurisdiction of PS-Sachal. His body has been transported to a hospital for legal formalities, with investigations actively underway.

Separately, police personnel engaged in two distinct encounters with criminal elements in different districts. In District Malir, near PS-Shah Latif, an exchange of fire led to the apprehension of one injured robber, identified as Kamran Ali s/o Shamsuddin. His accomplice, however, managed to evade capture. Officers seized a pistol, ammunition rounds, a mobile phone, cash, and a motorbike from the scene. The injured suspect was taken to a medical facility for treatment.

Another similar incident unfolded in District Central near Habib Patti on the main road, where PS-Gulbahar officers confronted two suspected robbers. Following an exchange of gunfire, Asghar s/o Aziz and Owais s/o Jamal were arrested in an injured condition. Their third companion escaped. Police recovered a pistol with rounds, a mobile phone, and a motorbike. Both injured culprits were subsequently transported to hospital.

In two unrelated incidents of robbery resistance, two individuals sustained injuries. Ibrahim s/o Sharif, 23, was shot and wounded during a robbery attempt in the PS-Memon Goth area of District Malir, and has since been moved to CHK for medical care. Later, Babar Ali s/o Ahmed Ali, 30, also suffered a gunshot wound while resisting a robbery near Nimra Hospital at New Karachi Basheer Chowk, falling under PS-NKIA in District Central. He was conveyed to ASH for urgent medical attention. Further investigations into all these incidents are continuing.
