Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif today held an important meeting with the women parliamentarians of Pakistan Muslim League (N) in which the ongoing budget session and public welfare projects were discussed. The Prime Minister praised their active participation and welcomed their suggestions on projects affecting their constituencies.
Among the parliamentarians who attended the meeting were Syeda Nosheen Iftikhar, Begum Tehmina Daultana, and Shaista Khan, etc. The focus of the discussion was on empowering women and their increasing inclusion in the country’s socio-economic structure.
Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting peace and stability during the current tensions and appreciated the efforts of the government’s team, which includes Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Deputy Prime Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar. This initiative is important as the country is facing difficult circumstances, aimed at increasing the representation of women in national policymaking.
By actively involving women lawmakers in budget negotiations, the government signals that women’s voices hold a fundamental position in the governance and development strategy of the nation.
