AJK President urges scholars to struggle for peaceful society

Muzaffarabad:Azad Jammu and Kashmir President Sardar Masood Khan has said that religious scholars should intensify their struggle for the establishment of a society in which there is equality, prosperity, peace and tolerance.

The scholars of our country have played a great role in Tehreek-e-Pakistan and Tehreek-e-Azadi Kashmir as well as in the recent corona situation and other similar national crises of which we will always be proud, he said while addressing an Iftar dinner in honor of Ulema of different schools of thought at Aiwan-e-Sadr, Muzaffarabad, according to a statement issued today.

Prominent religious scholars and members of Islamic Ideological Council Mufti Kifayat Hussain Naqvi, Mufti Muhammad Ibrahim, Secretary General of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Azad Kashmir Maulana Imtiaz Abbasi and others were present on the occasion.

The President said that the scholars should foil the propaganda spread by the enemies in which Islam is being presented as a religion of extremism. He said that the scholars should guide the Muslims in the face of the challenges of the modern age and highlight the features of the political and economic system of Islam. Khan said that the scholars should also make it clear that we Muslims are all part of one Ummah and the Ummah is like a family and a single body in which pain in one part of the body creates anxiety and restlessness.

He said that by adopting the high principles of Islamic welfare society, many western countries had achieved high levels of development and prosperity today. In these societies, education, health and social security are provided to the people by collecting taxes from the people which creates peace and balance in the society. He urged the religious scholars to educate and encourage the people to take precautionary measures against the coronavirus as in the past so that the epidemic could be successfully eradicated.
