The Leader of the Opposition in Sindh, Ali Khurshidi, expressing a strong reaction to Murtaza Wahab’s press conference, stated that the mayor’s faltering speech indicates that the power is on the verge of extinguishing.

Khurshidi lamented that it is unfortunate the Mayor of Karachi is engaging in blame game politics instead of working. He further stated that the day is not far when the flag of righteousness will fly over KMC and civic institutions.

Ali Khurshidi accused PPP workers of playing with fire and blood in Karachi on December 27, 2007. He said that the people of Karachi will neither forget these incidents nor will they let them be forgotten.

The Leader of the Opposition predicted that the People’s Party would not be in a position to nominate its candidates in the next local body elections. He indicated that the upcoming cantonment board elections would be a writing on the wall for them.

Khurshidi further mentioned that these new political actors are unable to live due to their fear of MQM’s reputation and rise. He emphasized that Karachi’s civic institutions are not someone’s personal property but belong to the children of this city.
