KARACHI: President Aligarh Muslim University Old Boys’ Association (AMUOBA) celebrated the Independence Day with traditional zeal and fervor. President AMUOBA, Jawaid Anwar, Vice President, Cdre (R) Salim Siddiqui and General Secretary, Muhammad Arshad Khan visited the mausoleum of founder of Pakistan, Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to pay homage to the great leader on the occasion of Pakistan Independence Day.
They laid floral wreath at his tomb and offered Fatiha for the soul of Quaid e Azam. In their remarks penned down in the visitor’s book, they paid glowing tributes to the great leader of the subcontinent. Pakistan Navy band also performed at the Quaid’s mausoleum to mark the occasion.
Talking to the media person, President AMUOBA, Jawaid Anwar, said that we are living in an independent state because of blood-soaked struggle Muslims of the subcontinent under the great leadership of Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He was a visionary person. Sir Syed Ahmed Khan had understood long before Muslims cannot survive in India and they needed a separate state for living according to their religious norms.
