Allama Iqbal Medical College Independence Day Ceremony

Lahore, August 15, 2020 (PPI-OT): Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid visited the Allama Iqbal Medical College and presided over the Independence Day ceremony here on Friday. Present on the occasion were Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Dr. Arif Tajammal, Medical Superintendent Jinnah Hospital Dr. Yahya Sultan, Gohar Ijaz, Professor Arshad Zia, staff and faculty members and a large number of students. The students sang national anthem after which a cake cutting ceremony was held. Minister Health Dr. Yasmin Rashid also addressed the participants on the occasion.

The Minister said, “By the blessings of Almighty Allah, we have got relief by reduction number of Corona cases on Independence Day. The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has developed its manifesto according to the vision of Quaid-e-Azam. We have to serve Pakistan at every cost. Health professionals have always played key role in times of crisis. Our doctors and staff members who lost their lives during Pandemic will be remembered in history for their immense services. We have sacrificed hundreds of thousands of lives for Independence and everyone of us will have to play role in the progress of the nation. Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College praised the doctors, nurses and paramedical staff performing duties in Corona wards.

He expressed gratitude to the Health Minister for presiding over the ceremony and said that staff were performing to the best of their abilities at Jinnah Hospital. He made a renewed pledged to serve patients under the leadership of Dr. Yasmin Rashid. Later, the Health Minister gave away certificates to outstanding performers in the ceremony.
