ANF arrests 11 drug peddlers, seizes over 70 kilogram drugs

LAHORE:The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) on Monday claimed to have arrested 11 drug peddlers and recovered over 70 kilogram drugs in the countrywide operations. According to ANF spokesperson, more than 600 grams of Ice drug concealed in two water coolers was recovered from a parcel reached at a private cargo office in Jhelum. The parcel was sent from Peshawar.

The ANF officials seized 2.2 kilograms of hashish recovered from a local resident of Bhakkar in the operation. Moreover, over 2.5 kilograms of Ice drug was recovered from a passenger’s trolley bag at Sialkot airport. The accused, a resident of Jhelum, was leaving for Bahrain by flight number GF-769.

The spokesperson added that 19 heroin-filled capsules were recovered from the possession of a suspect in Chiniot. As many as five suspects were arrested by the ANF in a joint operation with the Punjab Rangers in Kasur and 7.1 kilograms of heroin was recovered from their possession. A motorcycle was also impounded during the operation.

In an operation conducted in Peshawar, 18 ecstasy tablets were recovered from a parcel booked for Murree through a courier office. The ANF also conducted operations against the drug peddlers in Rawalpindi, Bajaur, Gwadar and other parts of the country. The suspects have been arrested and ANF has started further action against them.
