The Sindh government has announced significant measures for environmental protection. Secretary of Environment, Agha Shah Nawaz Khan, has ordered a crackdown against plastic bags and vehicles emitting toxic smoke.

Starting from June 15, strict action will be initiated against plastic bags in major markets and supply points. Agha Shah Nawaz clarified that industrialists have been advised to adopt alternatives or be prepared for legal action.

Plastic bags have been cited as a cause of soil pollution, blockage of drains, and death of marine life. The Secretary stated that the vehicular emission crackdown campaign will continue until May 29, and fines are being issued to vehicles emitting toxic smoke at various locations.

Agha Shah Nawaz emphasized that the fight for environmental protection is a national duty of every Pakistani, and by succeeding in this, we can ensure a better future for the coming generations.
