Pasban Democratic Party Chairman Altaf Shakoor, terming the recent attack on the cadet college a “national tragedy,” has demanded that to confront the enemies of the country, “traitors” should be identified and made an example of.
In a strong statement on Wednesday, Shakoor called the attack against innocent students and teachers a “cowardly and barbaric” act.
He stressed that the country’s progress depends on thwarting the designs of the enemies, and the pillars of the state must unite to counter this threat. Shakoor emphasized that it is impossible to confront the enemy without taking the public into confidence.
The political leader reiterated that the public stands “shoulder to shoulder” with the army and expressed the nation’s pride in the professional skills of its armed forces.
He paid tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for national security, saying that they and their families “live in our hearts.”
Shakoor insisted that no leniency should be shown to the elements disturbing the peace and tranquility of the country and demanded that security measures in educational institutions be made more effective.
Concluding his statement, the PDP chairman expressed deep satisfaction that all the college students remained safe in the incident, and said that the entire nation should be grateful to Allah Almighty for their safety.
