The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has expressed serious concerns over the increasing control of non-local entities over land and businesses in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), warning that these actions are aimed at altering the region’s demography.
In a statement, APHC cautioned that large-scale purchases and confiscation of land in popular tourist destinations by non-locals are part of a systematic plan to weaken the territory’s governance and legal structures.
The APHC further highlighted that officials opposing such transactions are being transferred to suppress dissent and safeguard vested interests, raising fears over the long-term implications of these policies on the region’s identity and autonomy.
