Attempt to smuggle drugs abroad from outskirts of Gwadar foiled, consignment worth 24 million dollars recovered

Authorities foiled a major drug smuggling attempt in the Panwan area, seizing 441 kilograms of high-quality hashish, with an estimated value of 24.31 million dollars in the international market.

A spokesperson for the Pakistan Coast Guards stated today that this successful operation was conducted by the Pakistan Coast Guards based on credible intelligence regarding drug smuggling activities. The illegal consignment was recovered from a vehicle that was stopped for a surprise check by the agency’s personnel.

Authorities suspect that this large cache of drugs was intended for international markets and was to be smuggled out of the country via sea routes from the coastal area.

In a statement issued after the recovery, the Pakistan Coast Guards reiterated their commitment to curbing all forms of smuggling. The agency added that such operations are crucial for stabilizing the country’s economy.
