In a significant blow to drug traffickers, Customs Enforcement officials today claimed to have confiscated a substantial quantity of hashish estimated to be worth Rs. 264 million on the international market during an operation in Turbat.
The successful intelligence-based operation, conducted on Tuesday, led to the discovery of 88 kilograms of the narcotic, commonly known as Chars. The contraband was found concealed within 88 individual plastic packets.
The seizure took place along the M-8 road in the vicinity of the Kech River. In addition to the narcotics, authorities also impounded the vehicle used for the illicit transport, a non-custom-paid grey Toyota Axio valued at approximately Rs. 4 million.
Following the operation, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) issued a statement reiterating its unwavering commitment to combating narcotics smuggling and illicit trade across the country.
