Sukkur IBA University, in collaboration with the Sukkur District Administration, organized an impactful awareness session on the theme of national unity. The Commissioner of Sukkur Division, Abid Saleem Qureshi, was the chief guest and keynote speaker at the event held on Thursday. The initiative aimed to strengthen values such as solidarity, peace, and mutual respect, which are essential for national harmony.

The gathering commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran and the national anthem, setting a tone of unity and solidarity. Professor Dr. Asif Ahmed Shaikh, Vice Chancellor of Sukkur IBA University, welcomed the participants and highlighted the institution’s commitment to nurturing responsible and socially conscious citizens. He emphasized the importance of national unity in the contemporary era.

In his keynote address, Mr. Qureshi stressed the pivotal role of education in fostering the principles of integrity and social cohesion among the youth. He pointed out that education not only imparts knowledge but also nurtures character building and ethical values. Mr. Qureshi encouraged students to embrace values such as empathy and accountability, which are crucial for national unity and sustainable development.

This was followed by an interactive session, where students actively engaged in a dialogue with the Commissioner, expressing their perspectives on Pakistan’s social, political, and economic challenges and discussing the proactive role of the youth.

At the conclusion of the session, Professor Dr. Sher Muhammad Daudpota, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Information Technology, and Mr. Qazi Abdul Wahid, Director of the Career Development Center, presented an honorary shield and traditional Sindhi gifts, Ajrak, to Mr. Qureshi.
