Growing frustration among local business owners and tourists over the prolonged closure of the famous Pipeline Track in Ayubia National Park has led to serious allegations, with the local community questioning whether the ongoing uncontrolled fires are being used by authorities as a pretext to cover up illegal timber transportation.

This public discontent follows a failed assurance from the wildlife administration, which had claimed that the Donga Gali to Ayubia Chairlift Pipeline Track would be reopened for tourists within two days. This promise has not been fulfilled, as the route remains shrouded in smoke and inaccessible.

A few days ago, a SubDivisional Wildlife Officer had stated that the track’s gates were closed to ensure the safety of tourists, citing the need for repairs and removal of stones. However, the area remains closed due to visible fire and smoke.

Frustrated local stakeholders and visiting tourists are now demanding a formal inquiry into the recurring fire incidents. They have appealed to the Commissioner Hazara, Deputy Commissioner Abbottabad, Chief Conservator Wildlife Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and senior officials of the Forest Department to launch a thorough investigation.

The repeated fires in the park are causing severe damage to the region’s forests and wildlife, raising serious environmental concerns.
