Construction of Autism Center of Excellence begins in Islamabad, Prime Minister lays foundation stone

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, during the foundation stone laying ceremony of the Autism Center of Excellence in the federal capital, called the support of children with special needs a collective national duty and urged for broader social and institutional participation.

In his address, on Saturday, the Prime Minister emphasized that the art presented by the children at the ceremony proved that they are “in no way less capable than ordinary children.” He described the children’s performance as commendable, saying they had spread a powerful message of “love, unity, and sacrifice” for the entire country.

The head of government issued a directive to the Chairman of Bait-ul-Mal for the welfare institution to provide institutional support to the new center. He also extended an open invitation to others to contribute to this “noble cause.”

The Prime Minister promised that individuals and institutions participating in this effort would be rewarded in both this world and the hereafter, and reiterated that patronizing these children is a shared responsibility of all citizens.

In a special acknowledgment, the Prime Minister paid special tribute to the parents of the children, recognizing the significant efforts and challenges they face in their upbringing.
