The Balochistan government is implementing practical steps to shield women from exploitation by proscribed organisations, which use them as a “weapon to harm societal values,” Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has stated.
Mr Bugti’s comments came today as he expressed his pleasure over the establishment of the first-ever Ramazan/Eid Women”s Market in Gwadar’s history, a venture he said provides women with dignified opportunities for recreation and economic independence.
The unique marketplace, set up by the district administration on Thursday, was visited by a large number of local women and children from Gwadar and the surrounding locales.
Lauding the Deputy Commissioner of Gwadar for the undertaking, the Chief Minister described the promotion of positive activities for women as a praiseworthy step.
He reaffirmed his administration”s firm commitment to providing women with ample opportunities for economic and social development, adding that the new market reflects the government”s dedication to female empowerment.
