Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has unveiled a substantial increase in Balochistan’s allocation within the National Finance Commission (NFC) award, doubling the province’s share.
During a ceremony for the Jinnah Square Murree Road Underpass project in Islamabad, the prime minister emphasized the government’s dedication to equitable development and resolving long-standing regional disparities.
Shehbaz underscored the importance of Balochistan to Pakistan, highlighting infrastructure projects aimed at fulfilling local aspirations and transforming challenging terrains into modern highways. Though specifics on the NFC allocation remain undisclosed, the prime minister portrayed the enhancement as a pivotal move for national unity and inclusive progress.
In Islamabad, ongoing efforts to modernize and beautify the city were recognized, with Shehbaz lauding Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi’s contributions to expedited development. The Jinnah Square underpass is projected to finish in 35 days, ahead of schedule, alongside traffic improvements at Faisal Masjid Chowk and the activation of the Blue Area parking plaza.
The prime minister also noted the country’s improving economic outlook, referencing Fitch’s recent upgrade of Pakistan’s credit rating from ‘CCC’ to ‘B?’ with a stable perspective. He attributed this progress to collective efforts, asserting that economic stability is paving the way for continued development and prosperity.
