Banning highway in IOK immoral, unnatural: JKLF

Srinagar, April 05, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) has condemned the decision of banning the Jammu-Srinagar Highway for civilian vehicle movement two days a week. The JKLF Acting Chairman, Abdul Hameed Butt, in a statement issued in Srinagar said the decision is highly immoral, unnatural, against the ethics and is based and designed on Indian ill will.

He said this anti-people decision of banning hundreds and thousands of people from Jammu to Baramulla is highly condemnable and is tantamount to severe human rights violation. He said by the use of such tactics India actually wants to see and impose a graveyard like silence in Kashmir to complete and accomplish its election theatre.

Elaborating the fallout of this anti-people decision, he said directly or indirectly, the livelihood of lakhs of people depends on this highway which will be badly affected. He added India actually wants to consolidate its unlawful occupation in the territory and by the dint of might wants to make Kashmiri people to accept their unlawful sovereignty.

Emphasizing on the joint resistance against these decisions, the JKLF Acting Chairman said freedom-loving people have in the past fought gallantly anti-Kashmir and anti-Kashmiri policies of Indian authorities. Leaving aside Indian threats, he appealed people to follow JRL programme in letter and spirit.

He also condemned the ill treatment of jail administration and its police action against the freedom-loving detainees in Srinagar Central Jail. Terming them as the assets of the freedom movement who are lodged in jails for years and months together, he warned government of India, its stooges and the so-called local administration of severe consequences if anything wrong happened to any of the detainee.
