Billions-Rupee Package for Rehabilitation of Industrial Areas’ Infrastructure is Excellent: SITE Association of Industry Karachi

In a significant move to revive economic activities, the Sindh government has approved a landmark package of Rs 9.28 billion for the rehabilitation of deteriorating infrastructure in Karachi’s industrial zones, which has been promptly welcomed by the SITE Association of Industry Karachi as a historic and business-friendly initiative.

Leaders of the SITE Association of Industry today praised the move as a timely decision, expected to restore confidence, boost production, and have a positive impact on national exports and investment.

SITE Association President Ahmed Azeem Alvi highlighted that the specific allocation of Rs 2 billion for the SITE area is a ‘real relief.’ He expressed hope that the infrastructure rehabilitation will significantly reduce the production costs for businesses operating in the zone and welcomed the fair distribution of funds under the supervision of city authorities.

Veteran industry leaders praised the broad vision of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, who linked industrial development to the key national goals of employment and exports.

SITE Association Patron-in-Chief Zubair Motiwala described the Chief Minister’s decision as “commendable,” stating that it will restore the business community’s confidence and encourage new investment. He added that the transparent implementation of funds and the establishment of a monitoring committee will further strengthen the industrialists’ trust.

Chief Coordinator Saleem Parekh termed the package a “historic decision” and praised the collaborative role of Provincial Minister for Industries Jam Ikramullah Dharejo and Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah in resolving industry-related issues.

Parekh also appreciated the services of Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab for his serious efforts on the TP-1 and TP-3 water projects. He said that due to these measures, the SITE area is on track to receive 1 million gallons of water daily by December 30, a significant breakthrough in overcoming the city’s chronic water shortage.

According to Parekh, the Karachi Mayor has assured that if this pilot project is successful, its capacity will be gradually increased each month to further facilitate the city’s residents and the industrial sector.
