PESHAWAR:On the directives of Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shah Farman, a meeting of the Senate on the budget of Islamia College University Peshawar for the financial year 2021-22 was held under the chairmanship of Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Higher Education and Information Kamran Bangash at Governor House on Tuesday.
The meeting reviewed in details the priorities and technical aspects of the budget of the said university for the financial year 2021-22. The meeting also discussed the growing financial deficit of Islamia College University and the financial plan of the university related to expenditure in terms of pensions and salaries.
It was learned that the meeting also emphasized on the proper use of other existing resources including the assets of the university to overcome the financial problems of Islamia College University and to improve the budget matters. Islamia College University’s budget for the financial year 2021-22 was given conditional approval on the objections of the finance, establishment and Higher Education Commission after the objections and reservations of the said departments were removed.
Later, under the supervision of Agriculture Minister Mohibullah Khan, a Senate meeting on the budget of the University of Peshawar for the financial year 2021-22 was also held at the Governor House Peshawar in which the priorities and technical aspects of the budget of the University for the Financial Year 2021-22 were reviewed in detail.
Apart from the funds received, financial plans for the development affairs of the university were also reviewed. The Senate session raised some objections on the budget of the Agricultural University for the financial year 2021-22 by the Senate members and the Finance Department, Higher Education Commission has given conditional approval to remove the objections and reservations of the budget of the Agricultural University of Peshawar for the financial year 2021-22.
Principal Secretary to Governor Muhammad Idrees, Secretary Agriculture Department Muhammad Israr, Secretary Higher Education Department Muhammad Daud Khan, Additional Secretary Finance Department Ambassador Ahmed, Vice Chancellor Islamia College University Prof. Dr. Gul Majeed Khan, Vice Chancellor Agricultural University Peshawar Prof. Dr. Jahan Bakht besides other concerned Senate members attended the meetings.
