The upcoming fiscal year’s (FY) federal budget includes a proposal to allocate Rs65 million for the decoration and renovation of the Prime Minister’s (PM) Office.
Additionally, Rs55 million has been proposed for the refurbishment of the PM Staff Colony. According to media reports, total expenditures for the project are estimated to reach Rs180 million by June 30, 2025.
Further funds have been suggested in the upcoming budget to continue renovation work at the PM Office. The project was initially approved with a total cost of Rs343.1 million.
In addition to the Prime Minister’s Office, the budget for FY 2025-26 also includes a proposed allocation of Rs132.7 million for the construction of 12 new apartments in the Ministers’ Enclave, Islamabad.
Rs53.6 million has also been allocated for the restoration and replacement of elevators in the Shaheed-e-Millat Secretariat building. On the healthcare front, the Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2025-26 earmarks Rs15.3435 billion for the sector.
This includes funding for 18 ongoing and three new health initiatives. Rs01-billion has been allocated for the Prime Minister’s National Program for Hepatitis C elimination, and Rs800 million for the Prime Minister’s Program for Diabetes Prevention.
Furthermore, Rs5-billion has been proposed for the construction of the Quaid-e-Azam Health Tower in Islamabad. Another Rs1.701 billion is allocated for the establishment of a cancer hospital in the capital.
While Rs100 million is set aside for the construction of an Infectious Disease Laboratory. Special budgetary provisions have also been made to improve health infrastructure at federal and district levels.
