C.S. Emphasizes on law making on Kite-flying/String making, an security measures on Independence Day and Eid-ul-Azha

Karachi, August 07, 2018 (PPI-OT): No Fire Work or Ariel Firing on the eve of Independence Day specifically in the midnight of August 13-14 should be allowed the strict legal action shall be taken against the offenders, the Chief Secretary Sindh Major Rtd. Azam Suleman Khan said this while presiding a high level meeting regarding security arrangements in respect of Independence Day, Eid-ul-Azha and General Law and Order situation. In view of prevailing security situation and threat perception, the Chief Secretary directed the LEAs to ensure acute security arrangements.

He emphasized that the security situation should be beefed up. He also took notice on the killing of an innocent girl affected by the kite-string and stressed the need of law making to curb such fatidic incidents. He also addressed the Divisional Commissioner and DIGs through video conference. IGP Sindh, Secretaries of Home, Health, General Administration, Live Stock and Fisheries, School Education, Local Government and other officers, Secretary Information Qazi Shahid Parvez, Commissioner Karachi and Metropolitan Commissioner also attended.

Maj. Azam asked the Provincial and Divisional Authorities to ensure coordinated efforts for celebrations of Independence Day and Eid-ul-Azha, with harmony and sanctity. He noted that it is a must to ensure acute sanitation and cleanliness must be accorded, as well fool proof security arrangements night also be undertaken to curb any untoward situation, and mischievous activities by the undesirable elements.

Maj. Azam advised the Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioner to perform their responsibilities zealously with the guidance and consultation of Provisional Government, and in association with Sindh Police. He categorically noted that hide-snatching should be eradicated law fully.

He directed that sacrificial offals would be disposed of through a mechanized system, while not violence and negligence would be tolerated. The Chief Secretary maintained that all Hospitals and their staff will have to be kept alert with all preparations to cope with the emergency while, he stressed the need to depute all doctors in their uniform coats with display of their service identity cards.

Maj. Azam also emphasized upon medical examination of all sacrificial animals by the doctors and veterinarians, as well he ordered to take action against the illegal cattle markets. IGP Sindh also spoke. The Chief Secretary expressed hope that all concerned will perform their responsibilities devotedly in the larger national interest, as they demonstrated in conducting the General Election. Meanwhile, the Chief Secretary also asserted that a law will be made regarding kite-string, he directed all Divisional Commissioner to submit their recommendations in this regard. Maj. Rtd. Azam Suleman Khan also advised the Commissioner Karachi to hold a meeting with the kite matters with a view to refrain them from the injurious kite-material, specifically in preparation of string.
