C.S. Presides Meeting

Karachi, February 07, 2019 (PPI-OT): Chief Secretary Sindh Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah has constituted a committee to monitor and functionalize the R.O. (Reverse Osmoses) Plants in Tharparkar and other places of the Province. The Committee headed by the Secretary PHED (Public Health Engineering Department) would also comprise Additional Secretary Finance, Representatives of NED University, Mehran University and M/s Pak Oasis Limited.

The Chief Secretary, while presiding a review meeting asked the newly constituted committee to ensure functionality of the non-functional R.O. Plants and submit report, thereof within 15 days. Earlier Secretary PHED Hassan Naqvi briefed that 2222 R.O. Plants have been installed in various areas including Tharparkar District of those 1481 are functional, while remaining 741 are non functional.

Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah maintained that all out efforts be made to functionalize the R.O. Plants, devotedly. The Secretary PHED apprised that under the instructions of Chief Minister Sindh in compliance with the orders of Honorable Courts all the schemes of Water Supply and Drainage have been transferred to the PHED, Government of Sindh. C.S. said that all stake holders must work devotedly for provision of potable water to all people.
