Call for planting trees on Quetta mountains

QUETTA: Dr. Naseem Khan, President, Star Shaheen Mountaineering, Climbing, Hiking and Caving Academy, Quetta has said that Quetta has been blessed with beautiful mountainous ranges, therefore, steps are required to be taken for planting saplings and trees on these mountains so as to ameliorate climate.

In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said that the best mountaineers of different Academies and Clubs of Quetta, including Tankal Adventure Club, Sangat Adventure Club, Darvesh Adventure Club, Abdali Adventure Club, Mountain Adventure Club, Kako Adventure Club and Shaheed Fida Jan Adventure Club, led by the mountaineers of Star Shaheen Mountaineering, Climbing, Hiking and Caving Academy, Quetta hoisted green flag atop Chiltan Mountain on October 07, 2022. He said that all facilities to the mountaineers of different mountaineering academies and clubs were provided on self-help basis.

Thanking the authorities of the office of Provincial Minister for Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs, Abdul Khaliq Hazara and worthy Secretary, Sports, Culture and Youth Affairs Department, Government of Balochistan, Muhammad Ishaque Jamali to have issued no objection certificate in favour of Star Shaheen Mountaineering, Climbing, Hiking and Caving Academy, Quetta to lead mountaineers of different academies for hoisting national flag atop Koh-e-Chiltan mountain, he said that the patronage of provincial sports department has motivated and encouraged mountaineers of different academies of the Provincial capital for the first time in the history to undertake a joint venture for reaching the top of Koh-e-Chiltan mountain for hoisting the flag of our dear home land Pakistan.

He hoped that the authorities of Provincial Sports and Youth Affairs Department, particularly Minister for Sports and Culture, Abdul Khaliq Hazara and Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Muhammad Ishaque Jamali would continue extending patronage to the mountaineers of Quetta.
