QUETTA: Chairman, Huq Do Tehreek, Quetta, Bashir Khan and Senior Deputy Chairman, Hafiz Rehmatullah Nurzai, have called on authorities to amend “Balochistan Recruitment Policy, 1991” by allocating major share to Quetta city.
In a statement issued here on Monday, they said that Quetta city, a dense populated city of Balochistan province, does not get due share in the recruit policy framed by the government of Balochistan for making appointments against vacant posts from grade-01 to grade-20.
They said that whole of Balochistan avail benefits from the facilities available in Quetta city while on the other hand, the lowest quota has been fixed for Quetta city in the mentioned recruitment policy. They added that after allocating quota for five percent women, five percent minorities and two percent quota for disabled persons, the remaining posts, meant for initial recruitment, are further allocated for merit, Kalat Zone, Zhob Zone, Naseerabad Zone, Mekran Zone, Quetta Zone, Sibi Zone and Quetta city in accordance with rotational chart of the recruitment policy. Placing Quetta city, with a population of approximately 04 million to 05 million, at the bottom of rotation chart of policy for making appointments against vacant positions is injustice with Pushtuns, Balochs, Settlers and Hazara communities of Quetta city, they regretted.
They called on Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo, Governor Balochistan, Mir Jan Muhammad Jamali, Chief Secretary Balochistan, Abdul Aziz Uqaili and other concerned authorities to get Balochistan Recruitment Policy, 1991 amended so that deserving candidates of Quetta city could not be deprived of their rights to seek jobs in Government Departments.
