Call to release budget to all Balochistan MCs, TCs

QUETTA: Pakistan Milli Labour Federation and All Balochistan Clerk and Technical Employees Association on Thursday demanded of the authorities to release budget of the current fiscal year to all Metropolitan Corporations, Municipal Corporations and Town Committees of the province; otherwise, a protest of the employees would continue.

This demand was made in the protest sit-in staged outside the building of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation on Thursday under the ages of Pakistan Milli Labour Federation and All Balochistan Clerk and Technical Employees Association.

Addressing participants of protest sit-in, speakers said that all subordinate offices of Local Government Department, including Metropolitan Corporation, Municipal Corporations and Town Committees of the province, were confronting financial crises, adding that it was not possible even to pay monthly salaries to the regular employees on time. They said that pensioners of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation were deprived of their monthly pensions while gratuity to the heirs of deceased employees could not be paid owing to non-availability of funds.

Demanding the authorities to release budget of complete fiscal year to all the Metropolitan Corporations, Municipal Corporations, Town Committees of the province, ensure releasing pensions to the pensioners of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation, pay gratuity to the heirs of deceased employees, grant special allowance to sanitary workers of Christian community of Metropolitan Corporation Quetta on the eve of Christmas, they said if demands were not entertained, protest of the employees would continue. Protest sit-in was addressed by Shakar Khan Raisani, Provincial General Secretary, Pakistan Milli Labour Federation, Shams Kakar, President, All Balochistan Clerk and Technical Employees Association and others.
