Call to stop appointments against deceased quota on political basis

QUETTA: Balochistan Mulazameen Ittehad on Thursday demanded of the authorities not to make appointments against deceased quota on political basis, upgrade posts of different cadres, release pay in respect of the employees of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation.

According to detail, employees of Balochistan Mulazmeen Ittehad led by Khan Zaman, President, Balochistan Labour Federation took out protest rally from the premises of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation, Quetta. Participants of rally marched through different roads and reached outside Quetta Press Club where participants of rally assembled to hold a protest demonstration.

Addressing the protest demonstration, speakers said that appointments on political basis against the post reserved for deceased quota was not acceptable. They said that it was injustice with the employees of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation to deprive them of their monthly salaries, gratuity and pension, adding that it was not known as to why employees to Balochistan Development Authority and Balochistan WASA had not been paid their monthly salaries. They said that contract employees of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation had been deprived of their monthly salaries for the last three years.

Protest demonstration was addressed by Khan Zaman, President, Balochistan Labour Federation and others. Chanting slogans in favour of their demands, protesters dispersed peacefully. Separately, employees of Quetta Metropolitan Corporation staged a protest demonstration in the lawn of QMC, demanding the authorities to release pay in favour of the employee of QMC, Quetta.
