Canada Pakistan Business Consul President Sameer Dossal Hosts luncheon for Governor Punjab

Karachi, April 26, 2019 (PPI-OT): Canada Pakistan Business Consul President Sameer Dossal Hosted Luncheon for Governor Punjab. Canada Pakistan Business Council had the opportunity to host an exclusive luncheon to welcome Governor Punjab, Chaudry Sarwar at the prestigious Aga Khan Museum amongst a select group of business people who are keen to engage with Pakistan and create business opportunities in Pakistan. As Pakistan in its new era is open to Business and Canadians can and should benefit from the opportunities that Pakistan is offering. A proud moment for CPBC is that a couple of our members are amongst the first to be pre-qualified in the Naya Pakistan Housing project.

Earlier in March 2019, President CPBC had the opportunity to meet and call on Governor Sarwar Chaudhry in Pakistan where they discussed the cooperation of agreement already in place between Ontario and Punjab and further avenues on how to build upon this. President Canada Pakistan Business Council extended an invitation to the Governor to visit our forum during his forthcoming visit to North America which he graciously accepted.

The Governor spoke to a room full of businessmen and professionals. He commented on the calibre of businessmen with a high net worth in Toronto that are the ambassadors of Pakistan. He said he is proud of being among so many accomplished and educated individuals.

Mr. Chaudhry offered full support to CPBC and the community at large to come to Pakistan to explore opportunities and urged CPBC to continue their good work. Mr. Chaudhry was gracious to spend time individually with each Business person present. President Dossal spoke about the bilateral trade which is hovering around 1.5 Billion Dollars with an opportunity to grow exponentially. He highlighted the cooperation of agreement between Punjab and Ontario which can provide opportunities to Ontario and Canada to get engaged in the Naya Pakistan initiative by the present government in Pakistan.

Mrs. Sarwar Chaudhry, passionate about the betterment of deserving lives in Pakistan spoke about the work she is doing in various parts of Pakistan. One of the notable charities is of empowering women in rural areas and teaching them skills that make them independent. She spoke from her heart about Sarwar foundation and its mandate. Mr. S M Muneer, Chair, Pakistan Canada Business Council of the FPCCI, thanked the Governor and acknowledged the good work by CPBC and the Pakistani diaspora. Mr. Wajid Hashmi, Deputy Consul General thanked the CPBC for a arranging a well-organized event and joined in presenting memento to the Governor.

CEO, Aga Khan Museum, Mr. Henry Kim talked about how they are taking a photography tour to Pakistan to teach photography in the northern part of Pakistan to help empower women in Pakistan.
