Canada’s High Commissioner, Tarik Ali Khan, has noted the progress of Barrick Gold’s work on the Reko Diq Project and conveyed the willingness of other Canadian companies to invest in Pakistan, signaling potential for expanded economic partnership.
The high commissioner’s remarks came during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.
In the discussion, Mr. Khan extended his gratitude to the deputy prime minister for the government”s support in facilitating the import of Canadian canola into the country.
According to a statement posted on X, Senator Dar acknowledged the positive trajectory of Pak-Canada relations and the ongoing high-level engagement between the two nations.
The foreign minister emphasized the need for further strengthening bilateral cooperation, specifically in the areas of economy, trade, investment, and agriculture.
He also highlighted the importance of enhancing people-to-people connections and recognized the significant role of the Pakistani diaspora in promoting ties between the two countries.
