Layyah: A 40-feet wide breach occurred in Dad Canal near Rafiqabad in Layyah on Sunday, inundating standing crops on several acres.
The breach water also inundated nearby settlements and damaged mud houses, posing threat to the locals. The breach water has damaged crops. The villagers termed the breach as fault of the irrigation authorities.
According to Irrigation Department, the water supply was suspended from the head works after the report of the breach and an operation was being carried out to plug the breach.
