Caretaker Labour Minister distributes permanent orders among 30 Daily Wages Employees

Karachi, July 13, 2018 (PPI-OT): Caretaker Minister for Labour and Human Resource Simon John Daniel on Friday announced to approve SESSI staff union (CBA) charter of demand which was pending since July 2017. Provincial caretaker minister gave this approval in a staff union (CBA) ceremony organized to distribute permanent orders among 30 daily wages employees at SESSI head office. On the occasion Commissioner SESSI Naseem ul Ghani Sahito, member SESSI governing body Wahid Shoro, Vice Commissioner SESSI Shah Muhammad Shah, President Staff union (CBA) Malik Naveed Khan and others were also present.

Minister Labour said that it was a matter of great pride for him that he is distributing permanent orders among 30 daily wages employees who were serving since 2010 as well as giving approval of charter of demand of staff union pending since July 2017. He said that SESSI is an important institution of labour department which striving hard for the welfare of workers. He lauded the efforts of SESSI administration and advised all officials to continue work with same spirit to bring more improvements in service delivery to workers.

As per charter of demand Hajj quota has been increase to 12 employees per year; Enhancement in no of Hindu and Christian Employees to three once a year for each community (Hindu and Christian) to be sent to their holy places in Pakistan and amount has also been enhanced from Rs.20,000 to Rs. 30,000 each; children education allowance has been enhanced from Rs.1000 to Rs.1300 per month and also granted 30scholarships and Rs.1500 for primary, Rs.2500 for secondary and Rs.5000 for higher secondary per month; increase in utility allowance from Rs.1000 to Rs.1300 per month; introduction of deceased quota, enhancement of special allowance for certain employees; amount of house rent advance has been increase from 11 months to 15 months and its installments will be deducted in 27 months instead of 22; rates for outside treatment have been revised and it has been decided that private hospitals be taken on SESSI Penal at Karachi, Hyderabad, Kotri and Sukkur and Heart and Cancer patients be admitted through SESSI letter etc., while committees have been constituted to look into matters for promotions of technical posts which have no channel of next promotion, up gradation of Stenographer, house scheme and enhancement of house rent allowance.

These facilities shall apply to the employees in respect of BS-1 to BS-15 including BS-16 (non gazetted) with effect from 1st July 2017. Speaking on occasion SESSI Commissioner Naseem ul Ghani Sahito informed that he has tried to make improvement in institution and remained successful in getting approval of Sindh Employees Social Security Amended Act 2018, where in employer and employees given equal 40%, 40% representation in SESSI, whereas Sindh government representation has been reduced to 20%.

President staff union (CBA) Malik Naveed Khan and governing body member Wahid Shoro also spoke on the occasion. Later Provencal minister for Labour and Human Resources Simon John Daniel distributed permanent orders among the 30 employees of SESSI.
