Session Court Mastung advocate shot dead

MASTUNG:,,, Advocate of Session Court Mastung was shot dead and the court employee injured by unidentified pillion bike riders near Major Chowk area of Mastung in Balochistan province on Wednesday.

According to rescue sources, unidentified pillion riders gunned down one man namely Muhammad Waris Alizai Advocate son of Abdul Ghafar and shot and injured another man near Haji Habibullah near Major Chowk area of Mastung.

The body and injured were referred to Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital, Mastung for completion of medico-legal formalities and treatment, respectively. The body was handed over to the heirs after fulfilling necessary medico-legal formalities while the injured, reported to be an employee of Session Court, Mastung, was being treated at Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Raisani Hospital, Mastung. Further investigation was being conducted by the authorities of concerned police station.

Decision made to increase number of city council committees to 37: Mayor Karachi

KARACHI:,,, Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab has said that he wants to take everyone together in the wider interest of Karachi, and the unanimously approved resolution of the city council will have more priority to solve the long-standing important problems facing the city.

He expressed these views while addressing the press conference held on Wednesday at the lawn of the KMC head office. On this occasion, Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad, People's Party Parliamentary Leader Najmi Alam, Chief Whip Karamullah Waqasi, Deputy Parliamentary Leader Dil Muhammad, Juman Darwan and other officials were also present.

With the advice of Jamaat-e-Islami, it has been decided to increase the number of city council committees to 37, and will work together with the political party that supports them to solve the basic problems of Karachi.

Wahab said that the main task of the city council is to make a policy that benefits the people of Karachi, everyone has the right to express their point of view but within the circle of respect, only protest does not solve the issues.

While explaining the details of the agenda of the upcoming meeting of the city council, he said that water, sewage, gas and electricity are the main problems of the city on which all political parties agree. We will discuss the non-supply of gas in cold weather in tomorrow's meeting and a resolution will be passed in this regard, besides speeding up the construction work of Red Line on University Road and Green Line on MA Jinnah Road. It will also be demanded that the federal government should accelerate pace of work on these projects.

He said that KMC now has the authority to appoint its own property inspector in every town of Karachi. In order to show solidarity to Palestinians we are going to attribute Gulistan Johar underpass to them, the city council should decide where the money of Bahria Town received by Karachi should be spent. After yesterday's meeting, the next meeting will be called soon, we are working on the things that come in our scope, he sai let's all work for the city, disagree but sit together to solve the problems.

Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that any house has sanctity, therefore parliamentary traditions should not be violated at all. We have given this message to all the parties to keep their differences in their place but work together seriously for this city.

In response to a question, he said that the days when there used to be china cutting on drains and parks are gone, living nations learn from wrong decisions, he said that action should be taken against whoever has done wrong, we cannot move forward without admitting our mistakes.

He said that alliance was formed in the past but the people of Sindh chose the People's Party, the way the People's Party stood with the people is in front of everyone, the way it played a role in the Covid, the people of Sindh will succeed the People's Party, the Election Commission is a constitutional Institution, we had 99 seats in the Sindh Assembly but this time we will cross the century mark.

Handlers in safety and hygiene field to be trained soon

KARACHI:,,, Sindh Food Authority (SFA) and Sindh Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (STEVTA) will work together for training of the food handlers in the field of safety and hygiene.

The opportunities and possibilities were discussed in detail in a meeting between DG SFA Agha Fakhar Hussain and MD STEVTA Munawar Mithiani. In this regard a MoU would be signed between the two authorities.

Meanwhile, in a surprise inspection, DG SFA Agha Fakhar Hussain along with his team visited the kitchen of INDUS HOSPITAL.

Mansoor Ali Abbasi GM ADMIN briefed the DG SFA over improvements they made after the previous visit of SFA Team. DG SFA appreciated the efforts taken by the administration of INDUS HOSPITAL. Col Habib Memon, Director Security was also present.

It was decided SFA and INDUS HOSPITAL will work together to set the standards for Hospital kitchens. Hajj draw held in safoora town

KARACHI:,,, Safoora Town has become the first town in Karachi's towns, where despite limited resources, Chairman Safoora Town Rashid Khaskheli along with Vice Chairman Abdul Haq Baloch, Municipal Commissioner Imtiaz Ali Bhutto, Chief Account Officer Yasir Lakhir and other officers and members of the Town Council held Hajj draw on Wednesday in which the names of Imran Baloch, Muhammad Shoaib and Saleem Khan of different departments were came out.

Chairman Safoora Town Rashid Khaskheli congratulated the lucky ones on the occasion and said that it is our good fortune that despite limited resources, Allah Pak help us and succeeded to did this noble work.

He said resources were limited but there spirit was big and keeping this spirit in mind, they were trying to resolve the long-standing problems of the people including problems of employees.

He also thanked the members of the Town Council for their cooperation in performing the noble work.

IHC to hear Nawaz Sharif’s plea against Al-Azizia conviction on Dec 7

Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday fixed plea of former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo Nawaz Sharif against his conviction in the Al-Azizia reference for hearing.

Nawaz Sharif was convicted by the accountability court in Avenfield and Al-Azizia references, however, earlier this week he was acquitted by the IHC in the Avenfield reference. The accountability court had awarded a 07-year sentence to the former prime minister in Al-Azizia reference. He was also fined Rs1.5 billion and US$25 million.

However, in 2019, his sentence in the Al-Azizia reference was suspended by the Lahore High Court (LHC) on medical grounds. He was then permitted to fly to London on medical grounds.

A two-member bench headed by IHC CJ Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb will take up the plea of Nawaz Sharif on December 7. Notices have been issued to the concerned parties for the hearing.

On November 29, Islamabad High Court (IHC) acquitted former prime minister Nawaz Sharif in the Avenfield reference.

A two-member bench comprising IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq and Justice Miangul Hassan Aurangzeb announced the verdict on Nawaz’s appeal against his conviction in the case.

CAA introduces advance loan scheme for employees

KARACHI: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has introduced an advance loan policy for its employees and officers, willing to buy vehicles On Friday.

According to the CAA press release, the employees will be provided with a loan facility for buying motorbikes, cycles and cars. Employees of Service Group from 1 to 2 grade can avail of advance loan up to Rs25,000 for buying cycles, while the employees of higher grades up to 11 can avail of a loan facility of up to Rs150,000 to buy motorbikes.

Furthermore, employees of CAA Executive group falling in grade 1, can avail loan of Rs200,000, while the employees of the Pay group from 5-9 grades, can receive advance loan up to Rs1.3 million.

Special employees of the Pay group from grades 5 to 11 can also avail loan up to Rs1.3 mln. The CAA further said that employees of Executive Group from grade 2 to 10 can avail of advance loan up to Rs3.5 mln.

The Civil Aviation Authority said that yearly 10 per cent interest will be charged on the loan acquired by the employees for vehicles.

PPPP issues new guidelines for election candidates

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People's Party Parliamentarians has instructed potential election candidates seeking party tickets to send their applications in accordance with the new constituency number by December 4, according to a report on Friday.

PPP Secretary General Sayed Nayyar Hussain Bukhari has instructed aspiring candidates who have applied earlier to send new applications without bank drafts.

He further instructed the fresh aspirants to attach a bank draft of 40,000 rupees for the National Assembly and 30,000 rupees for the provincial assembly along with their applications.

As per instructions the applications will be in the name of President of the party while the bank draft will be in the name of PPP Parliamentarians.

It was instructed that applications should be sent to Bilawal House Karachi or House Number One Street 85 Embassy Road Islamabad.
