Shopkeepers assure implementing SOPs

Quetta:Rahim Agha President Anjuman-e-Tajiran Balochistan, General Secretary Allah Dad Tareen, Nasruddin Kakar, Haji Ghulam Farooq Shahwani, Aslam Tareen, Haji Yaqoob Shah Kakar, Ghulam Mehdi Hazara, Mir Akram Bangulzai and Iftikhar Hussain in their joint statement issued here on Saturday said that although the government has granted ease in lockdown, yet it seems that precautionary measures are being violated by shopkeepers.

They said expressing annoyance over the violation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), government authorities had decided to enforce lockdown afresh, but in the meantime head of provincial negotiating team provincial Minister for Board of Revenue Mir Saleem Khosa contacted Raheem Agha President Anjuman-e-Tajiran Balochistan and conveyed the concern of government.

Office bearers of Anjuman-e-Tajiran Balochistan assured that they would launch campaign to create awareness amongst shopkeepers to follow preventive and precautionary measures. They urged shopkeepers to abide by the agreement inked between government and trader organizations and follow Standard Operating Procedure (SOPs).

Police officer promoted

Quetta:Sajjad Haider Tareen PSDP/ Investigation Quetta has been promoted to the rank of Superintendent of Police (B-18).

Consequent upon his promotion, he has been posted as Commandant, Campus Peace Corps Quetta, says a notification issued by Central Police Office Balochistan Quetta.

Pak-Afghan border remained opened

Quetta:Pak-Afghan border at Chaman was opened for repatriating Afghans stranded in Pakistan on Saturday.

However, Pakistanis stranded in Afghanistan also crossed the border and entered Pakistan, who were shifted to Quarantine Centre set up at Chaman border.

One dead, another injured in road mishap

Quetta:One person died while another sustained critical injury when a motorcycle was ran over by a car on Slyaza Road Zhob on Saturday.

Deceased was identified as Mehboob Khan, resident of New Abadi while the name of injured person was Jaffar. Dead body and injured person were shifted to Civil Hospital Zhob.

Two engineers suspended for negligence

QUETTA:Two assistant engineers of Local Government Department have been suspended on account of gross negligence, according to a notification issued by Local Government and Rural Development Department.

It says, “In pursuance of Section-6 of Balochistan Employee’s Efficiency and Discipline Act, 2011 (Act No. VI of 2011), the services of following officers are hereby placed under suspension due to gross negligence, irresponsible behavior, non-supervision and delay in execution of works with immediate effect and until further orders; (i) Mazhar Ayub, Assistant Engineer (BPS-17) office of Senior Assistant Director, Local Government Quetta (ii) Naseem Ahmed, Assistant Engineer (BPS-17) office of Senior Assistant Director, Local Government Quetta”.

One dead, another injured in Dasht firing

QUETTA:One person was killed while another sustained injuries due to firing of unidentified person in Teerameel area of Dasht on Friday, said rescue sources.

Dead body and injured persons were shifted to Sandeman Provincial Hospital Quetta where deceased was identified as Muhammad Alam S/O Nukar Khan, 43, resident of Manguchar while injured as Nazeer Ahmed S/O Gul Hassan, 17, resident of Teerameel.

Ehsaas program continues in Gwadar

Quetta:Deputy Commissioner Gwadar Captain (Retd) Muhammad Waseem said distribution of money under Ehsaas Cash Programme has been continuing in his district.

He said 11494 beneficiaries have so far been benefited from Ehsaas Programme, adding that thirteen Crore seventy-nine Lac and twenty-eight thousand rupees had been distributed amongst eleven thousand four hundred and ninety-four beneficiaries from April 10 to May 6, 2020.
