Federal Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Malik today visited the River Chenab to assess flood risks, meet emergency responders, and review precautionary measures along the banks.
During the inspection, Dr. Malik conferred with rescue personnel stationed in the area, commending their devotion and tireless work to protect lives. He paid tribute to the sacrifices made by response units and said such efforts are critical to shielding citizens from natural hazards.
The minister also engaged with local residents to hear their concerns and evaluate immediate needs, officials said. He reviewed administrative arrangements and preventive actions implemented along vulnerable stretches of the river to reduce the likelihood of damage.
Emphasizing public safety as a top government priority, Dr. Malik reaffirmed that all available assets would be mobilized to confront any flood-related emergency. He stressed the importance of timely, coordinated action to ensure effective interventions should the situation escalate.
