Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfraz Bugti visited Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti Hospital in Baker and inspected various departments, patient wards, and the dispensary.
Hospital authorities briefed the Chief Minister on the services being provided to the patients. Mir Sarfraz Bugti highlighted the geographical challenges of providing healthcare facilities in Balochistan, which comprises 43% of Pakistan’s landmass. He reiterated the provincial administration’s commitment to providing high-quality medical services at the local level.
He said that upgrading Basic Health Units would reduce the burden on larger hospitals and better treatment at the local level would reduce the cost and difficulties of seeking treatment outside the province. He shed light on the ongoing reforms to improve public health and appreciated the public-private partnerships, particularly the collaboration with Indus Hospital.
Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti reiterated the administration’s commitment to increasing access to healthcare facilities in remote areas and termed the inclusion of Indus Hospital at Mir Ghulam Qadir Bugti Hospital a practical example of this objective.
