Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi today personally reviewed security arrangements at masjids and imambargahs, meeting with officers deployed during Fajr prayers as part of heightened vigilance during the holy month of Ramadan.
The inspection involved the IGP encouraging officers performing alert duties and issuing instructions to ensure they continue to carry out their responsibilities in the most effective manner, according to a statement today.
This direct oversight of security operations followed a special Iftar dinner hosted for police officers and personnel at the Police Lines Headquarters, an event organised on the IGP”s directives to boost the morale of the force.
IGP Rizvi, along with other senior police officials, broke the fast with the attendees, where special prayers were also offered for the martyrs of the police service.
Addressing the gathering, the police chief stated that every officer and member of the Islamabad Police is determined to fulfil their duties. He expressed pride in the professional competence, bravery, and integrity demonstrated by the force.
He directed all staff to continue performing their tasks professionally throughout Ramadan and to carry out their official responsibilities with zeal and commitment.
According to the Islamabad Capital Police, the purpose of arranging the Iftar was to support personnel who remain constantly engaged in ensuring the protection of citizens” lives and property.
