KHAIRPUR:Chief Justice of Sindh High Court Mr Justice Ahmed Ali Shaikh Wednesday took notice of the sexual assault and murder of a seven-year-old girl, Moonika Larik, a daughter of Ghulam Shabeer Larik, and directed DIG Police Sukkur Range Fida Hussain Mastoi and SSP Khairpur Ameer Saud Magsi to appear personally before the court and submit a progress report by January 15, 2021.
The minor girl was murdered after being raped near Pirjo Goth four days back. According to SSP Ameer Saud Magsi, 10 suspected people have been arrested for an interrogation while their DNA samples were taken and sent to a Jamshoro lab for the test and after test confirmation, the accused will be nominated.
Khairpur police have constituted three teams for the investigation, including one led by SP headquarter Nosherwan, other led by DSP Pirjo Goth Hubdar Shah and 3rd led by Incharge CIA Khairpur Abdul Hameed Phanwar. The teams have started the investigation and also got statements from family members besides collecting material from the sites.
Meanwhile, Deputy Commissioner Khairpur Ahmed Ali, SP headquarter Nosherwan Chandio visited the house of the victim family at village Loung Larik and offered condolence with family members. The DC also provided Rs50,000 relief money to Ghulam Shabeer, the father of Monika. The Soyum of Monika was held near Pirjo Goth amid a mourning atmosphere.
