According to Chairman Municipal Committee Khairpur, Dr. Yar Muhammad Phulpoto, municipal authorities have launched a priority, city-wide campaign to address the immediate issues of sanitation and sewage disposal in all 29 wards.

Dr. Phulpoto confirmed on Wednesday that the councilors of all wards are fully focused on sanitation and other civic matters in their respective areas. He stated that necessary equipment has been distributed among all councilors to facilitate these cleaning efforts.

The Chairman emphasized that urban cleanliness is the top priority, stating that strict measures are being implemented at all levels. He confirmed that municipal waste is being collected on time according to a pre-determined schedule, and strict instructions have been given to sanitation officers, staff, and supervisors to ensure compliance.

Regarding the city’s drainage system, Dr. Phulpoto detailed a daily inspection process to identify and resolve blockages. In cases requiring immediate attention, sanitation teams and officers are promptly deployed for emergency operations and to restore flow.

He added that to ensure accountability, concerned authorities have been given strict directives regarding sanitation and drainage maintenance. Furthermore, a daily performance report on the progress of these municipal works is being compiled and submitted to higher authorities for review.
