Climate change impact on agriculture sector, human life major challenge: Fakhar 

Islamabad, October 17, 2021 (PPI-OT):Minister for Food Security Syed Fakhar Imam says the impact of climate change on agricultural sector and human life is a major challenge for the country. Speaking at an event in Islamabad on Sunday, he said the sustainable environmental growth is key to improvement of agricultural sector on which human life depends. The Minister said the climate change has affected our major crops such as cotton and wheat, which are in dire need of weather protection.

Speaking on the occasion, Sweden’s Ambassador Henrik Parson appreciated the present government of Pakistan for taking important steps to address the negative effects of climate change and to maintain quality of life in the country. He said ‘Billion Tree Tsunami and Green Pakistan’ are the most important projects that would surely play an important role in fostering a sustainable and environmentally friendly life.
