LARKANA:Central leaders of Awami Tehreek advocate Sajid Mahesar, Mehran Sindhi, Ali Hassan Wako, advocate Fazul Rahujo, advocate Zulfiqar Mirani, Muhammad Khan Chandio and others have alleged that Chandka Medical College Hospital Vaccination Centre is facing acute shortage of coronavirus vaccines and even those people are sent back home who arrive for second doze.
In a statement issued here on Tuesday, they further alleged that vaccine shortage was also being faced in Kambar-Shahdadkot and at all vaccination centres that had been opened for the benefit of the people. They strongly condemned this act and termed it a conspiracy to deprive the eligible citizens to save themselves from the deadly virus and sheer negligence of Sindh health department bosses.
They said vaccination centres are working under scorching heat and no air-conditioners have been provided due to which efficacy of the vaccine is a big question mark which needs to be investigated.
They demanded of the Sindh Chief Minister and Sindh High Court Circuit Court, Larkana Bench, to take immediate notice of the shortage and unavailability of required facilities at the vaccination centres of Larkana and Kamber-Shahdadkot and thorough probe into the issue so that people should not suffer for incompetence of others.
Meanwhile, Dr. Muhammad Sharif Pirzado, Medical Superintendent, 100-bed Government Hospital, Naundero, has written several letters to the Integrated Health Services (IHS) to provide air conditioners at the Vaccination Centre, but no response has so far been received and vaccines are kept in scorching heat in ice box. The staff and the people sit under ceiling fans when the mercury has shot up to 50 degrees.
