The Meteorological Department has forecast on Sunday that a cold and dry weather wave will continue in most parts of the country, while severe cold is expected in the mountainous areas. According to the forecast, there is a possibility of a change from the dry weather in some northern areas. Northern Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan, Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Kashmir are expected to have cloudy skies, with a possibility of light rain and snowfall in some places.

The temperatures recorded on Sunday morning showed the intensity of the cold. The temperature was recorded at nine degrees Celsius in the capital Islamabad, eleven in Lahore, and eighteen degrees Celsius in Karachi.

In other urban centers, the temperature was eight in Peshawar, two in Quetta, three in Gilgit, and six degrees Celsius in Muzaffarabad. Murree experienced severe cold where the temperature was recorded at zero.

In the Jammu and Kashmir region, the Meteorological Department has forecast partly cloudy and cold weather during the day in Leh, Pulwama, Anantnag, Shopian, and Baramulla.

Meanwhile, Jammu and Srinagar are expected to have cloudy skies with a possibility of light rain and snowfall during the evening and night.

According to the temperatures recorded in the region in the morning, Srinagar, Pulwama, and Baramulla were at one degree Celsius. Anantnag and Shopian were at the freezing point of zero degrees Celsius, while Leh recorded minus four degrees. The weather was slightly better in Jammu, where the temperature was twelve degrees Celsius.
