The Siyah Jangal Water Supply Scheme, the primary source of water for 80 percent of Dalbandin’s population, will be provided further protection following a high-level official visit.
Commissioner Rakhshan Division Mehboob Ahmed issued directives on Thursday for the demarcation and protection of the Public Health Engineering (PHE) site after an inspection visit to the facility.
During the visit, the Executive Engineer (XEN) of the Public Health Engineering Department gave a comprehensive briefing to the commissioner. The briefing emphasized the crucial role of the scheme, stating that the seven bores operating at the Siyah Jangal site provide clean drinking water to the vast majority of the city’s residents.
Deputy Commissioner Chagai, Atta ul Munim, also accompanied Commissioner Ahmed during the visit. Other officials present included Assistant Commissioner Dalbandin Mujeeb-ur-Rehman Satakzai and SDO Salahuddin Channal, along with other departmental officers.
At the conclusion of the inspection, the Rakhshan Commissioner commended the efforts of the Deputy Commissioner and the XEN. He reiterated the directives to implement measures for the formal demarcation of the site’s boundaries and to ensure its proper long-term protection.
