Concern expressed over Hurriyat leaders’ arrest

Srinagar, August 17, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference (JKMC), Shabbir Ahmed Dar has expressed serious concern over the arrest of Hurriyat leaders and activists. Shabbir Ahmed Dar in a statement issued in Srinagar said that recently the Indian police had arrested Zahoor Ahmad Butt, a senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) and brother of prominent martyred liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, and lodged him at some unknown place.

Describing his arrest as political victimization, Shabbir Ahmed Dar said that the family of Zahoor Ahmed Butt had given unprecedented sacrifices, adding that his four brothers including Maqbool Butt had laid down their lives for the Kashmir cause. He demanded immediate release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists including Zahoor Ahmed Butt.
