Concern expressed over Kashmiri political detainees’ plight in jails

Muzaffarabad, September 17, 2022 (PPI-OT): Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir has expressed deep concern over the plight of illegally detained Kashmiri Hurriyat leaders languishing in different jails of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and India.

Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali and Senior Vice Chairman Usman Ali Hashim in a joint statement issued in Muzaffarabad said that Dr Muhammad Qasim Fakhtoo, Pirzada Muhammad Ashraf, Muhammad Ayub Khan, Ghulam Qadir, Abdul Ghani Goni, Javed Ahmed Khan, Ali Muhammad Butt, Abdul Lateef Waza, Mirza Basharat Hussain, Muhammad Ayub Dar, Muhammad Nazir Sheikh, Ghulam Muhammad Butt, Muhammad Siddique Gujjar, Muhammad Feroz Khan, Parvez Ahmad Mir, Barkat Ali Khan, Sain Gujjar, Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Abdul Hameed Teli, Aslam Gujjar, Dr Shafi Khan, Bilal Kota, Muhammad Maqsood Butt, Shaukat Khan, Farooq Sheikh, Abbas Wani, Muzaffar Dar, Aslam Wani, Muhammad Shafi Shah, Dr Waseem and many other Hurriyat leaders and activists were in jails of India and the territory for the last several years.

They said the Indian government has imprisoned thousands of Kashmiris to force them to give up their demand for the right to self-determination. They said the families of the detained Kashmiris were suffering severe mental torture and agony. They added that such tactics of India will never succeed and the people of Kashmir will continue their struggle till it reached its logical conclusion.
