Conspiracies afoot to sabotage referendum in J and K: Sehrai

Srinagar, January 16, 2019 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, senior APHC leader and Tehreek-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman, Mohammad Ashraf Sehrai has said that anti-Kashmir forces in India are hell-bent upon changing the demography of Jammu and Kashmir by tampering with the special status and Muslim majority character of the territory.

Reacting to the reports about the tagging and filing of yet another plea against the Article 370 in the Indian Supreme Court, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai in a statement issued in Srinagar said these forces are working hard to sabotage and influence the future referendum process in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said such moves are being hatched to change the disputed nature of J and K and its Muslim majority character. “Since 1947, the extremist elements have always tried to push the Kashmir issue on the back burner and dilute its historical status and disputed character which they continue to do till this date,” he pointed out. From Srinagar to New Delhi, efforts are being made to shift focus from Kashmir issue by portraying it away from its historical and ethical background.
