Islamabad, October 23, 2020 (PPI-OT):At the United Nations, Pakistan says fighting corruption is at the heart of Prime Minister Imran Khan’s agenda and called for ensuring there were no safe havens for corrupt funds. During a speech to General Assembly’s Sixth Committee, a counsellor at the Pakistan Mission to United Nations, Saad Ahmad Warraich said foundation of ‘naya’ Pakistan is laid on the vision of promoting a culture of accountability and zero tolerance for corruption.
He said his government recognizes that a “corruption-free Pakistan” was an essential precursor to ensure rule of law, eradicate poverty, address socio-economic inequalities and achieve inclusive and sustainable development for all.
